This Kirby Vineyard Rosé is made from 100% Gamay Noir. The Gamay Noir grapes had a 10 hour skin soak before we took off some of the juice from the crushed fruit. The juice is pumped to tank for cold settling and clarification before racking to a secondary tank to start alcoholic fermentation. After the alcoholic fermentation starts, we transfer the fermenting wine to neutral barrels to finish ferment and to age for 5 months. This delicious rosé is then brought back to tank for fining and filtering before bottling.
Light salmon with a clear hue.
A fresh and lifted aroma of freshly squeezed pink grapefruit. Subtle notes of honeysuckle, lemon grass and gooseberry follow. A fragrant and focused rose that is fruit-driven and lifted.
A fresh, clean, light, crisp and acid focused wine. Although this Rosé is fruit-driven there are subtle tannins from neutral oak ageing which brings focus and a light texture. The same aromas of fruit on the nose carry through to the palate: grapefruit, gooseberry and fresh cut grass with secondary hints of vanilla and key-lime. Light bodied with a silky mid palate and an acid backbone that leaves you salivating for more on the finish.
