Winemaking:
At harvest we picked when the grapes were mature and flavours were ideal. The 2020 House White grapes were gently
pressed by separate batches in our Diemme Velvet bladder press. The Muscat grapes were the first to pick for their intense aromas and
flavours. The Chardonnays and Riesling were the second grapes to be picked and processed for their acidity and freshness. The Vidal and
Gewürztraminer grapes were next picked with rich and ripe flavours without compromising the acidity and balance. Finally the Pinot Blanc
was last to be harvested with intense fruit flavours and concentration. Each batch was gently pressed, then cold settled in tank before
the clean juice was racked off, kept separate and inoculated for alcoholic fermentation. Each grape variety received a specific yeast
selected to enhance the varietal character and preserve fruitiness and freshness. When the fermentation is complete the wines are
preserved and the blending trials begin. Once the final blend is chosen, the exact percentage of each variety is proportionately added to
the blending tank to create the final wine. The House White blend is then cold stabilized, bentonite clay fined and filtered before
bottling.
Appearance:
Bright straw with a clear hue.
Aromas:
Tropical, fruity, floral and perfumed aromatics. A medley of citrus and tropical fruits including pineapple, passionfruit,
grapefruit and honeysuckle burst from the glass. Subtle tree fruits of white peach, crisp apple and pear follow with a hint of musky
spice round out the aromas on this fruity blend. Grapefruit and honeysuckle burst from the glass. Subtle tree fruits and a hint of musky spice round out the aromas on this fruity blend.
Palate:
fleshy citrus fill the mouth as the wine enters. Followed by a plethora of many fruit flavours, pineapple, pear, papaya, apple and pink
grapefruit fruit complete the palate. Layers upon layers of fruit are shown in this blend. Secondary flavours of honey, flowers, and
white peach are underlying on this light-med bodied, easy-drinking wine. This off-dry wine is refreshing with balanced acidity that lingers
on the finish and is an everyday style wine that is great on its own or with light foods.
