Every bottle of wine tells a story. Not just of the vintage, but of the land, the people, and the countless decisions that transform grapes into something worth sharing around the table.
Our 2023 Petit Verdot is one of those stories.
Its journey begins at Edgerock Vineyard in Niagara’s Vinemount Ridge sub-appellation, a unique, south-facing vineyard planted as an innovative quarry rehabilitation project in 2000. The exceptional site allows later-ripening varieties like Petit Verdot to flourish in Ontario, while its Sustainable Winegrowing Ontario Certification reflects a commitment to thoughtful vineyard stewardship.
Back at the winery, the grapes are carefully fermented, monitored daily, and aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, resulting in a beautifully layered wine with notes of dark fruit, black pepper, vanilla, violets, fig, and coffee.
This year, that dedication was recognized at some of the industry’s most prestigious competitions. Our 2023 Petit Verdot earned Gold at both the Ontario Wine Awards and the All Canadian Wine Championships, along with Silver at the internationally renowned Decanter World Wine Awards. Adamo was also honoured with Gold for our 2023 Lepp Cabernet Franc and 2020 Cabernets, Silver for Frizzante at the Ontario Wine Awards, Silver for our 2024 Frizzante at the All Canadian Wine Championships, and Bronze for our 2020 Grand Meritage at Decanter.
While we’re proud of the recognition, the greatest reward is sharing these wines with our guests.
August is one of the most beautiful times to visit the winery. Join us for Seafood Social on Friday evenings, where fresh seafood, live music, and award-winning wines set the tone for the weekend. Gather around the table on Saturdays for Tavola, our Italian-inspired sharing experience, then slow things down with our signature Sunday Brunch overlooking the vineyard.
