Winemaking:

Our 2020 Red Head Pinot Noir was hand-harvested, crushed and de-stemmed into small batch vessels for a cold soak and then alcoholic fermentation. This Pinot Noir spent 30 days on its skins before it was pressed off to settle and then racked into French oak barrels. The French oak used was 15% new barrels, 40% 1 and 2 year old barrels and 45% neutral barrels where it was aged for 10 months to gain complexity and layers of fruit and tannin. After ageing, specific barrels were selected for this Red Head blend. The barrels were blended together into tank where they were cold stabilized, and lightly filtered before bottling. This is our fun, everyday styled Pinot Noir that is great on its own but also pairs well with light dishes and dinners.

Appearance: Bright garnet with a ruby hue.

Aroma:

Red and black fruits fill the glass with leather and spice. Red cherries, raspberries, blackberries, forest floor, and toasted oak follow. Brambleberry, graphite and floral notes round out the aromatic profile of this very aromatic wine.

Palate:

The aromatics on the nose follow through and continue to build on the palate.
Fruit-forward on the entry, notes of cherry, ripe red currents and brambleberry fill your mouth. Structured, layered tannins follow with flavours of leather, spice and toast. The mid palate of this wine has ripe fruit, round texture, integrated tannins and balanced acidity. This is a lighter, medium-bodied wine that showcases fruitiness, hints of earthiness and forest floor with texture and a lingering finish. Drink this wine on its own or pair with appetizers or
chicken, turkey and pork dinners.
